CRESTOR clinical trial results

CRESTOR® (rosuvastatin calcium), along with diet, has been proven effective in treating high cholesterol in clinical studies, including the first study of its kind focused solely on treating Hispanic-American patients with high cholesterol.

AstraZeneca conducted the nation's first large-scale prospective clinical study specifically researching the effectiveness of cholesterol medications in Hispanic Americans.

According to the study, known as STARSHIP, CRESTOR at 10 mg and 20 mg was more effective than the milligram-equivalent of another leading cholesterol medication, Lipitor® (atorvastatin calcium), in reducing levels of both LDL (bad) cholesterol and total cholesterol in Hispanic Americans — although, unlike Lipitor, CRESTOR has not been approved to prevent heart disease, heart attack, or stroke.

If you think high cholesterol might be an issue for you, ask your doctor if CRESTOR is right for you.
